Presentation at the ALT 2018 conference

Blog post by Karen Kear & Andrew Smith

Karen Kear and Andrew Smith went to the Association of Learning Technologies Conference (ALT-C) at Manchester University during early September 2018. The ALT has been established for 25 years as a community of learning technologists and engaged academics.

We presented on the progress of the Open Networking Lab (ONL) project and early data from vocational learning centres after the first phase of evaluation and ‘beta’ tests. Sharing the early developments and findings, and the notion of the ‘zero to hero’ networking experience within a Badged Open Course (BOC), garnered considerable positive feedback. There was particular interest in the use of the Packet Tracer and PT Anywhere network simulators.

To paraphrase audience feedback  – ‘if only I had this when I was studying networking’.

The slides are available to download from here.
